   ABOUT US

The main purpose of SPERDS is to sustain development of women in the target area. Hence, the focus of SPERDS is on empowering women, the specific objectives would be:

  • Sensitize the rural community, particularly women, on the locally available opportunities for increasing employment and income
  • Increase the awareness of the rural community and specifically women to empower them on various aspects that are directly and indirectly affect their socio-economic condition
  • Promote demand based Income Generating Activities by the women as group that helps to generate additional income to the families
  • Initiate activities for skill up-gradation, information sharing and market linkages to sustain their economic activities
  • Lay emphasis on the activities that can influence the socio-economic improvement of the rural women in terms of employment, income, mobilization, awareness, attitude, motivation and participation.

Genesis
Given the specific nature of rural and tribal people what required is micro level approach with Thorough understanding of tribal culture as well as their specific needs. Being in sight of general approach adopted for rural and tribal development and sensitised to rural and tribal needs and also the "exploitation "blues of tribal people, a few philanthropists ventured to address the specific needs of rural and tribal people in Andhra pradesh. This gave birth to "SPERDS"

  • Having sensitized to rural and tribal people's need and the exploitation they were facing, 
    SPERDS had the following vision to achieve:
  • To ensure Rural and Tribal people lead a comfortable way of life having requisite facilities in terms of economic development and social infrastructure accessible. At any moment of time and also realise and practise thier rights in the contemporary society.
  • Having visualized existence of egalitarian society rural and tribal people it was endeavored to achieve it through:
  • Undertaking capacity building activities for rural and tribal people and inculcate skils through training programmes to ensure exploration of local resources for their economic gains leading to comfortable way of life

  • To promote Art of Dance, Drama, Music, Painting, Craft, Art and Architecture, Photography, Cine Mautography.
  • To provide health service to the rural people:-
    Eg. Medical Care, Mother and Child Health, Nutrition, Sanitation, Health, Educational Other Descase Control, Education and other rehabilitation, health services by organizing rural camps.
  • To establish orphanages by giving shelter, food, clothing, and education and provide employment opportunities to the orphans and also provide legal AID to the poorer section of the society.
  • To educate and train up the poorer farmers in cultivation and cropping pattern, leveling digging of wells and other agricultural works relating to fields like electricity motor pumsets and others.
  • To work for the Economic, Social educational and cultural development of people particularly workers, small farmers and partisans in rural areas and also strengthen and promote voluntary effect in rural development through building up of local leadership, local institutions and to train workers particularly amongst the weaker sections organizing rural camps.
  • To undertake and organize study courses, lectures, meetings conferences, seminars, discussions, exhibitions and the like to promote the obhects of the association and also set up and organize training of youth, children and women in social work, conducting service, carrying investigations drawing plans and implementing development activities.
  • To establish and run homes for orphanages and hostels for destitute and ladies.
  • To establish vocational training centers and different income generating program.
  • To start old age homes, creases, foster care centers orphanages and to provide education food, shelter and medical facilities.
